Allison Osmer, MA
Psychotherapist
Allison is a graduate of Northwestern University's Mental Health Counseling Program. She is trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with additional knowledge in Cognitve Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational ​Interviewing.
Clinical Focus
As a therapist, Allison brings experience in addressing a broad range of concerns, including self-esteem, life transitions, anxiety, depression, academic and work-related stress, career exploration, and interpersonal challenges.
Therapeutic Approach
Allison's approach is both supportive and collaborative, creating a safe place for clients to feel heard, valued, and encouraged. Her practice is informed by her training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, where clients explore how past experiences and behaviors shape their present life.
The goal is to help clients gain insight into unconscious motivations and conflicts, leading to greater self-awareness and personal growth.
In addition, Allison integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other third-wave cognitive therapies to offer practical coping strategies in the here and now. Allison also has a growing clinical interest in supporting fellow helping professionals and women diagnosed with ADHD.
